The Talk
She was just trying to get some alone time. Time away from everyone, so naturally she found herself in the quiet gym. The gym where she used to practice with the Cheerios, and cheered for her boyfr-ex-boyfriend. So she couldn’t contain the “Shit” she whispered when the last person she wanted to see swaggered through the double-doors.
“Hey,” he said quietly, taking a seat next to her on the bleachers.
“What are you doing here?”
“This is where we had our first kiss,” he blurted out, looking around the gym.
She remembered very well, she didn’t think he would have.
“Look, Quinn,” he ran a calloused hand through his Mohawk. “I know Finn kicked you out, and it’s all my fault….and I don’t know where you slept last night, but you know you can stay with me.”
She couldn’t tell him that she had slept in her car. She hated that she needed his help.
He braced himself for rejection.
“I’ll think about it,” she mumbled before pushing herself up off the hard plastic seats.
“Let me know,” he called as she walked carefully along the bleachers.
A maybe was better than not in your dreams.
